Control & Automation Engineering

Role Summary

Lead the design, development, integration, and deployment of PLC-based automation and

SCADA systems for power electronics and energy platforms, ensuring safe operation,

reliable automation, seamless integration with converters and controllers, and robust

monitoring, diagnostics, and remote control.

Key Responsibilities

1. PLC Control & Automation Architecture

• Define PLC automation architecture for:

• BESS containers & plant-level control
• PCS auxiliary systems

• Electrolyser & Process automation

• Own control philosophy, sequencing, and interlock logic.

• Select PLC platforms, IO architecture, and redundancy concepts.

2. PLC Programming & System Integration

• Lead PLC programming using IEC 61131 Languages.

• Integrate PLCs with

• Power electronics controllers (DSP/MCU)
• Protection relays, meters, and sensors
• HVAC, fire detection/suppression, and safety systems

• Implement fail-safe and redundancy strategies.

3. SCADA System Design & Deployment

• Design SCADA architectures (centralized, distributed, hybrid).

• Develop HMI screens, alarms, trends, and reports.

• Implement data logging, historian, and analytics interfaces.

• Integrate SCADA with EMS, BMS, and cloud monitoring platforms.

4. Communication, Networking & Cybersecurity

• Define and implement industrial communication protocols:

• Modbus RTU/TCP, OPC UA, Profinet, Ethernet/IP, CAN

• Own network architecture, addressing, and redundancy.

• Support OT cybersecurity requirements (IEC 62443 concepts).

• Ensure time synchronization (NTP / PTP).

5. Testing, Commissioning & Site Support

• Lead FAT, SAT, and site commissioning.

• Perform loop checks, interlock verification, and system tests.

• Troubleshoot PLC & SCADA issues during commissioning and operation.

• Support remote monitoring, upgrades, and post-deployment support.

6. Documentation, Standards & Team Leadership

• Prepare and review:

• Control philosophy & functional descriptions
• IO lists, cause-and-effect matrices
• Network and architecture diagrams

• Establish PLC/SCADA standards, reusable libraries, and best practices.

• Train and mentor automation engineers and site teams.

Education & Experience

• BE / BTech / Diploma in Electrical, Instrumentation, or Automation

• 815+ years in PLC automation and SCADA systems for industrial or energy

applications

• Strong site commissioning and customer-facing experience
