Role & responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

A. Contract Management Responsibilities

Pre-Contract Stage

  • Review and analyze

    tender documents, BOQs, technical specifications, and contractual conditions

    .
  • Identify

    commercial risks, contractual obligations, and deviations

    .
  • Prepare

    contractual clarifications, deviations, and qualifications

    for tenders.
  • Support pricing strategies in coordination with estimation and finance teams.
  • Participate in

    contract negotiations

    with clients, consultants, and JV partners.

Post-Contract Stage

  • Draft, review, and administer

    contracts, sub-contracts, work orders, and amendments

    .
  • Ensure compliance with

    contractual terms, timelines, and payment milestones

    .
  • Manage

    claims, variations, change orders, and extension of time (EOT)

    .
  • Coordinate with project teams for

    billing, certification, and payment recovery

    .
  • Handle

    dispute resolution

    , including negotiations, arbitration support, and legal coordination.
  • Maintain contract documentation and correspondence records.

B. Business Development Responsibilities

  • Identify and develop

    new business opportunities

    in construction, infrastructure, EPC, or PPP projects.
  • Track upcoming

    tenders, RFQs, and RFPs

    from government and private clients.
  • Manage

    prequalification (PQ) and EOI submissions

    .
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with

    clients, consultants, government authorities, and stakeholders

    .
  • Prepare

    technical and commercial proposals

    in coordination with engineering and estimation teams.
  • Conduct

    market intelligence, competitor analysis, and project feasibility studies

    .
  • Support

    strategic alliances, joint ventures, and partnerships

    .

C. Commercial & Strategic Functions

  • Monitor

    project profitability and contract cash flows

    .
  • Support senior management in

    business planning and revenue forecasting

    .
  • Advise project teams on

    contractual rights and obligations

    .
  • Ensure compliance with

    company policies, legal requirements, and industry standards

    .

Key Skills & Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of

    construction contracts (FIDIC, EPC, Item Rate, Lump Sum, PPP, HAM, BOT)

    .
  • Expertise in

    claims management, variations, and dispute resolution

    .
  • Excellent

    negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management

    skills.
  • Strong understanding of

    tendering processes and project financing

    .
  • Analytical and risk-assessment abilities.
  • Proficiency in

    MS Office, contract management tools, and ERP systems

    .

Educational Qualification

  • Bachelors Degree

    in Civil Engineering / Construction Management / Quantity Surveying
  • MBA / PG Diploma in Contracts / Business Development / Project Management

    (preferred)

Experience Requirements

  • 810 years

    of experience in

    construction or infrastructure companies

  • Proven experience in

    both contract management and business development
