Consultant - Medical Oncology

to join our growing team of healthcare professionals. This role is ideal for both experienced oncologists and fresh graduates who are passionate about delivering high-quality cancer care. The consultant will be responsible for diagnosing, treating, and managing a wide range of oncological conditions using medical therapy and will work in collaboration with surgical and radiation oncology departments to ensure comprehensive care for cancer patients.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide evidence-based medical oncology care, including chemotherapy, immunotherapy, targeted therapy, and hormonal therapy for various types of cancers.
  • Evaluate and assess patients with suspected or confirmed cancer diagnoses through physical examinations, patient history, diagnostic imaging, and laboratory investigations.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans in consultation with multidisciplinary teams including surgical oncologists, radiation oncologists, radiologists, pathologists, and palliative care specialists.
  • Monitor patient progress during and after treatment, managing side effects and modifying treatment protocols as needed.
  • Participate in tumor board meetings and contribute to collaborative case discussions for holistic cancer care planning.
  • Counsel patients and families about diagnosis, treatment options, possible outcomes, and follow-up care.
  • Engage in research activities, clinical trials, and continuous medical education to stay updated with the latest advancements in medical oncology.
  • Document all clinical findings, treatment decisions, and patient outcomes in accordance with hospital protocols and regulatory guidelines.
  • Promote awareness and prevention strategies for early cancer detection among patients and the community.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • DM or DNB in Medical Oncology from a recognized institution is mandatory.
  • Clinical proficiency in diagnosing and treating a broad spectrum of solid and hematological malignancies.
  • Excellent understanding of current oncology treatment guidelines, medical technologies, and pharmaceutical protocols.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients, caregivers, and the multidisciplinary care team.
  • Ability to manage patient care in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
  • Demonstrated empathy, professionalism, and a patient-first mindset.
  • Familiarity with electronic medical record systems and documentation standards.
