Project Brief:
This position is part of the project “Costing of Health Services in India (CHSI 2.0)”. The incumbent will be based at the Indian Institute of Public Health – Delhi (IIPH-Delhi), under the Public Health Foundation of India (PHFI). PHFI is one of the collaborating institutions in this project with the Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh (serving as the lead institute).The CHSI 2.0 project aims to estimate the cost of delivering medical and surgical procedures under selected specialties covered by the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB PM-JAY). The study will be conducted across secondary and tertiary-level public healthcare facilities and private hospitals across 14 states of India, generating cost evidence to inform the revision of existing Health Benefit Package (HBP) rates, guide budgetary planning, and support evidence-based policy decisions for the efficient financing and delivery of healthcare services in the country.
Deliverables:
The Field Investigator will be responsible for conducting primary data collection at selected public sector district and tertiary care hospitals in Delhi. This role involves collecting detailed information on resource use, service delivery, and cost components in alignment with established project protocols. The position will perform the following tasks:
- Undertake hospital-based data collection in accordance with project protocols.
- Ensure completeness, accuracy, and consistency of all data collected.
- Maintain regular communication with the team lead and provide timely updates on data collection progress.
- Perform any other duties or tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
Education:
Essential:
- Bachelor in Nursing/Public Health/Pharma/Social sciences, B.Sc Medical or related field.
Desirable:
- Master’s in public health/Pharma/Social science/Developmental studies or related field.
Experience:
Essential:
- Approximately 0–1 year of experience is required.
Desirable:
- Experience of field level or hospital based data collection
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Fluency in English and (local language(s))
