Concept Artist

As a Concept Artist at Eyeline, you will have the exciting opportunity to collaborate directly with Scanline's Creative Director, VFX Supervisors, and Art Directors to visualize key design elements that will lay the foundation for VFX work. You should be highly motivated, comfortable working on multiple projects simultaneously, and confident in your ability to create imaginative designs that inspire clients and inform teams. Key Responsibilities: - Create high-end character, environment, FX progression, and/or vehicle concept art that creatively and technically inform VFX execution. - Produce quick sketches to assist in brainstorming design elements before refining them into fully polished concept work. - Demonstrate a strong understanding of photographic principles and aesthetics to support highly detailed photoreal output if required by the brief. - Ability to effectively communicate and comprehend creative concepts with supervisors, art directors, and clients. - Utilize gathered references and tangential design elements to help inform, inspire, and provide context to your work. - Paint-over existing models and look-dev to contribute to detailing and structure. - Develop key art imagery that establishes or conveys a visual direction. - Collaborate with show teams to define effective solutions to key creative challenges. Qualifications: - Proven production-based experience as a Concept Artist or in a closely related role within the creative digital industry (film, games, VFX, etc.). - Showcase a diverse portfolio highlighting your range of skills. - Expert knowledge of traditional art techniques including drawing, painting, proportion, anatomy, composition, and perspective. - Exceptional Photoshop skills are required. - Working knowledge of 3D software, with quick modeling skills for concept creation (e.g., sculpting and kit-bashing) being suggested. - Experience in Digital Matte Painting & projection is a plus. - Experience in compositing or Motion Graphic Design is a plus. - Excellent communication, time-management, and organizational skills. - Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, along with strong problem-solving skills. - Understanding and working knowledge to leverage GenAI for concept work is a plus.
