Computer Operator

Core Responsibilities

· Operate X-ray baggage scanning equipment to inspect carry-on and checked luggage for prohibited items such as weapons, explosives, and other threats.​

· Analyze scanner images to detect unusual objects or materials using color and density cues on the control display.​

· Investigate alarms or automated alerts, recording incidents and escalating reports according to airport or facility policies.​

· Communicate clearly with passengers for security procedures and provide instructions or guidance on baggage placement.​

· Respond to suspicious findings and follow established security protocols, including coordination with security personnel during emergencies.​

· Record and document information from the scanner, such as alarms or alerts, for audit trails and compliance.​

Key Skills & Qualifications

· Bechalore or equivalent; additional security training or certifications preferred.​

· Proficiency in operating X-ray scanning and image analysis software.​

· Strong observation skills and attention to detail to identify threats accurately.​

· Effective verbal communication for interacting professionally with passengers and colleagues.​

· Physical ability to stand for long periods and handle heavy luggage if required.​

· Basic technical understanding of X-ray equipment and image interpretation.​

Workplace and Safety

· Must adhere to radiation safety guidelines, using shielding and following prescribed safety measures.​

· Work is often in busy, high-stress environments such as airports, railway stations, or secure facilities.​
