Overview -

This position offers the opportunity to work directly with the founding research team on high-impact biomedical AI problems, combining academic depth with practical model translation.

Duration

• 3-month dissertation period (extendable to 6 months depending on progress and academic requirements)

Research Focus Areas

• Development of AI/ML models for early cancer detection
• Single cell RNA analysis, multiomics analysis
• Bioinformatics analysis on Multiomics Cancer Datasets 
• Designing agentic AI workflows for automated research pipelines
• Model translation: converting experimental research models into production-friendly diagnostic systems
• Biomedical data analysis, RNA/microRNA datasets, and clinical biomarkers
• Explainability, interpretability, and validation of diagnostic ML models

Trainee Responsibilities

•  Conduct literature review, problem framing, and hypothesis development
•  Build and evaluate machine learning/deep learning models for diagnostic tasks
•  Run experiments, analyse results, and document findings as part of the thesis
•  Collaborate on algorithm development, data curation, and statistical validation
•  Prepare contributions for scientific writing, including research papers and technical reports

Eligibility / Required Skills

• Final-year students pursuing BTech, BE, MSc, MTech, or related fields in Computer Science,AI/ML, Data Science, Bioinformatics, Biomedical Engineering, or Life Sciences with computational focus
• understanding of

  machine learning, deep learning, single cell, R programming and Python

• Interest in medical AI, computational biology, or diagnostic modelling
• Familiarity with agentic AI frameworks is a plus
