Job Description

Job Summary:

The Community Psychologist is responsible for designing, implementing, and evaluating community-based mental health interventions within the hospital and its surrounding communities. This role bridges clinical services and community outreach, ensuring patients receive holistic, culturally responsive care that extends beyond hospitalization. The Community Psychologist collaborates with multidisciplinary teams to promote recovery, prevent relapse, and support reintegration into the community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assessment & Intervention
  • Conduct community and systems-level assessments to identify psychological needs of patients and their social environments.
  • Design and implement group-based or community-based interventions focused on prevention, rehabilitation, and wellness.
  • Support discharge planning by coordinating with community agencies to ensure continuity of care.
  • Program Development
  • Develop and evaluate mental health programs aimed at underserved populations, including education, crisis prevention, and support services.
  • Promote mental health awareness and stigma reduction through outreach, workshops, and training.
  • Consultation & Collaboration
  • Collaborate with clinical psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, nurses, and case managers to integrate community resources into treatment plans.
  • Consult with hospital leadership on culturally responsive care and systemic improvements for better patient outcomes.
  • Research & Evaluation
  • Conduct applied research on community mental health needs, program effectiveness, and patient outcomes.
  • Use evidence-based practices and contribute to hospital policy recommendations for improved psychosocial support.
  • Advocacy & Equity
  • Advocate for social justice and equitable access to mental health care within and beyond the hospital.
  • Work closely with families, caregivers, and community organizations to support the psychosocial well-being of patients.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month

  • Doraha, Punjab: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Preferred)
