Designation : Communications & Digital Media Lead Organization : SwitchON Foundation Location : Kolkata, West Bengal (Extensive travel within Eastern, Western, and North Eastern India, including Kolkata, as required) Work Experience : Minimum 67 years in communications, digital media, or storytelling roles, preferably in development, climate, or nonprofit sectors Compensation : 810 Lakhs per annum (Fixed) + Variable Pay + Commitment Bonus (Commensurate with experience and qualifications) Language Proficiency : English (written and verbal); knowledge of Hindi and/or Bengali is a plus About SwitchON Foundation Established in 2008, SwitchON Foundation is a pioneering non-profit organization committed to driving sustainable development through innovative solutions in climate-resilient agriculture, clean energy, and green livelihoods. To learn more, visit: www.switchon.org.in Position Summary We are seeking a dynamic, creative, and mission-driven Communications & Digital Media Lead to shape and amplify SwitchONs voice in the climate and sustainability space. This leadership role will craft compelling narratives, engage diverse audiences, and execute digital campaigns that build awareness, inspire action, and drive program impact. Key Responsibilities Digital Media Strategy Design and implement integrated digital campaigns aligned with SwitchONs mission. Expand our digital reach and engagement across social media, email, and web platforms. Content Creation Develop impactful multimedia contentvideos, graphics, blog posts, reels, etc. Collaborate with program teams to convert field activities into compelling communication outputs. Brand and Messaging Ensure consistency in tone, voice, and branding across all platforms. Develop creative approaches to communicate climate issues effectively and accessibly. Website and Digital Tools Manage website content and user experience. Use analytics tools to measure and optimize performance. Partnership & Outreach Support media relations, newsletters, and event communication. Engage influencers, creatives, and grassroots partners in digital storytelling. Qualifications, Experience & Skills Education : Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, Environmental Studies, or a related field (Master’s preferred) Experience : 6–7 years in communications/digital media; development or climate/nonprofit sector experience is highly desirable Skills : Proficiency in AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, DALL•E, Jasper, Bard) for content and analytics Advanced skills in writing, graphic design, and video editing (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, Final Cut Pro) Strong grasp of social media platforms and digital marketing Excellent written and verbal English communication Strong analytical, storytelling, and collaborative abilities Reporting Structure Reports To : Director – Communications & Strategy Team Size : Works closely with program teams and external creative partners Travel Requirements Frequent travel across Eastern, Western, and North Eastern India, including within Kolkata, for program and content-related needs.
