Job Description


We are seeking a skilled and passionate Commis II specializing in Tandoor Cuisine to join our culinary team in Mysuru, India. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will assist in preparing authentic Indian dishes, with a focus on tandoor specialties, while maintaining the highest standards of quality and efficiency.

  • Assist in the preparation and cooking of tandoor dishes, including breads, meats, and vegetables
  • Maintain and operate the tandoor oven, ensuring proper temperature control and cooking techniques
  • Prepare and portion ingredients for tandoor dishes according to recipes and chef instructions
  • Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely and efficient food preparation
  • Adhere to food safety and hygiene standards in all aspects of food handling and preparation
  • Assist in kitchen organization, including inventory management and cleanliness
  • Support senior chefs in menu development and special culinary projects
  • Continuously improve culinary skills and knowledge of Indian cuisine

Qualifications

  • Culinary diploma or equivalent culinary education
  • 1-2 years of experience in a professional kitchen, preferably with Indian cuisine
  • Proficiency in tandoor cooking techniques and equipment handling
  • In-depth knowledge of Indian spices, ingredients, and cooking methods
  • Strong knife skills and ability to follow recipes accurately
  • Understanding of food safety and hygiene standards; food safety certification preferred
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Team player with strong communication skills
  • Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift heavy cookware
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays
  • Passion for Indian cuisine and commitment to culinary excellence
