Position Summary:

We are looking for a skilled and passionate Commis 1 – Continental Cuisine to join our kitchen brigade. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in preparing continental dishes, demonstrate high attention to detail, and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining top-notch food quality and presentation.

Key Responsibilities:

Preparation & Cooking

• Prepare ingredients and cook a variety of continental dishes (pastas, grills, salads, sauces, etc.)
• Follow standardized recipes and plating guidelines as directed by the Chef de Partie and Sous Chef
• Ensure consistency in taste, portion size, and food presentation

Kitchen Operations

• Assist in daily mise en place and maintain hygiene and cleanliness in assigned sections
• Operate kitchen equipment safely and ensure it’s well-maintained
• Coordinate with kitchen and service teams for smooth order flow and timely delivery

Quality & Standards

• Monitor freshness and quality of ingredients; promptly report any shortages or spoilage
• Uphold Epic Poetry Café’s commitment to quality, creativity, and guest satisfaction
• Strictly follow all food safety, hygiene, and sanitation protocols

Requirements:

• ✅ Minimum 1–2 years of experience as a Commis in a continental kitchen
• ✅ Strong understanding of continental cuisines, ingredients, and cooking methods
• ✅ Ability to work effectively under pressure and in a team-oriented environment
• ✅ Basic knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards
• ✅ Passion for food, a positive attitude, and eagerness to grow and learn
• ✅ Tamil-speaking candidates are preferred
