Job Title: Commis 1 – Continental Cuisine Location: Epic Poetry Café, Vytilla, Kochi About Epic Poetry Café: Epic Poetry Café is a cozy, creative space where culinary art meets soulful ambiance. Located in the heart of Vytilla, Kochi, we are known for our thoughtfully curated menu featuring international flavors, specialty coffee, and a passion for excellence in both food and service. Position Summary: We are looking for a skilled and passionate Commis 1 – Continental Cuisine to join our kitchen brigade. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in preparing continental dishes, demonstrate high attention to detail, and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining top-notch food quality and presentation. Key Responsibilities: Preparation & Cooking Prepare ingredients and cook a variety of continental dishes (pastas, grills, salads, sauces, etc.) Follow standardized recipes and plating guidelines as directed by the Chef de Partie and Sous Chef Ensure consistency in taste, portion size, and food presentation Kitchen Operations Assist in daily mise en place and maintain hygiene and cleanliness in assigned sections Operate kitchen equipment safely and ensure it’s well-maintained Coordinate with kitchen and service teams for smooth order flow and timely delivery Quality & Standards Monitor freshness and quality of ingredients; promptly report any shortages or spoilage Uphold Epic Poetry Café’s commitment to quality, creativity, and guest satisfaction Strictly follow all food safety, hygiene, and sanitation protocols Requirements: ✅ Minimum 1–2 years of experience as a Commis in a continental kitchen ✅ Strong understanding of continental cuisines, ingredients, and cooking methods ✅ Ability to work effectively under pressure and in a team-oriented environment ✅ Basic knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards ✅ Passion for food, a positive attitude, and eagerness to grow and learn ✅ Tamil-speaking candidates are preferred If you’re excited to bring your culinary talent to a vibrant café atmosphere and grow with a passionate team, apply now and be part of the Epic Poetry Café journey!
