Commercial Property Accountant

Key Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end commercial real estate accounting.
• Review and finalize monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting including balance sheets, income statements, and variance analysis.
• Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, rent roll updates, and bank reconciliations.
• Ensure accuracy and timely completion of

  CAM reconciliations

  and operating expense analyses.
• Collaborate with U.S. asset management and property management teams to resolve accounting discrepancies and reporting requirements.
• Manage monthly close schedules and deliverable timelines across multiple properties and entities.
• Ensure data accuracy within

  AppFolio, Yardi, or MRI

  , maintaining ledger integrity and consistency.
• Implement standardized accounting processes ensuring GAAP and client-specific compliance.
• Train, develop, and performance-manage team members to support quality and growth.
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency through automation and process enhancement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field;

  CA/CPA/CMA preferred

  .

• 510 years of experience

  in commercial real estate accounting
• Strong knowledge of U.S. commercial real estate accounting (retail, office, industrial).
• Hands-on experience with

  AppFolio, Yardi, or MRI

  .
• Strong command of accrual accounting, CAM reconciliations, and property financial reporting.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience working directly with U.S. property management firms or clients is a plus.
