Collection Officer

Job Title: Collection ExecutiveDepartment: Collections / RecoveryReporting To: Branch Manager / Collection ManagerJob Purpose:

To ensure timely recovery of loan EMIs, overdue amounts, and bad debts from customers while maintaining good customer relations and adhering to company policies and legal guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collection Activities
• Follow up with customers for overdue payments through calls, visits, and reminders.
• Ensure recovery of EMIs and dues within stipulated timelines.
• Identify and report defaulters and take appropriate recovery actions as per company policy.
• Maintain records of collection efforts and payment statuses.
• Customer Interaction
• Communicate courteously and professionally with customers regarding their payment obligations.
• Negotiate repayment plans or settlements when necessary.
• Address customer queries and provide guidance on payment modes and schedules.
• Documentation and Reporting
• Update collection reports and MIS on a daily basis.
• Maintain proper documentation of payments collected, receipts issued, and follow-up records.
• Submit periodic reports to the Branch/Collection Manager.
• Field Visits
• Conduct field visits to customers’ residences or business premises for overdue collection.
• Verify customer details and update contact information as required.
• Coordinate with the recovery team for repossession in case of loan defaults (for vehicle or asset-based loans).
• Compliance
• Ensure adherence to company collection policies and regulatory compliance.
• Follow ethical practices and maintain confidentiality of customer information.
• Avoid use of any coercive or unlawful means during recovery.

Skills and Competencies:

• Strong communication and negotiation skills
• Basic knowledge of finance and loan recovery processes
• Good interpersonal and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work under pressure and meet collection targets
• Willingness to travel extensively

Educational Qualification:

• Minimum: 10+2 or Graduate in any discipline

Experience:

• 1–3 years of experience in loan collections, preferably in NBFC or banking sector

Branch / Field-based (depending on the operational area)

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹18,000.00 - ₹22,000.00 per month
