Job Description

Role Overview: As the COE Technical Manager, you will play a crucial role in driving the design and development of LV to EHV Electrical products, focusing primarily on Surge arresters/Insulators. Your responsibilities will include establishing TE SA COE for IEEE business and ensuring compliance with industry standards and customer specifications. Your expertise in insulation design, electrical stress analysis, and system architecture will be essential for ensuring the reliability and performance of Surge Arresters. Key Responsibilities: - Lead the design and development of LV to EHV products, including surge arresters, Gas Insulated Switchgear (GIS), cable accessories, solar products, current transformers (CT), potential transformers (PT), and transformers. - Perform insulation design and electrical stress analysis to ensure product reliability and performance. - Conduct product sizing and power system analysis, and design both outdoor and indoor electrical systems. - Perform partial discharge (PD) analysis and transient overvoltage analysis to identify and mitigate potential issues. - Design electrical circuits and develop earthing and grounding systems. - Apply high voltage engineering principles to the design and development of EHV products. - Conduct electrical, electrostatic, and magnetic finite element analysis (FEA) simulations. - Perform short circuit analysis and power arc analysis to ensure product safety and compliance. - Develop designs that meet electromagnetic interference (EMI) and electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) standards. - Ensure all designs comply with relevant industry standards (e.g., IEC, IEEE). - Work closely with cross-functional teams, including external partners and suppliers, to develop and optimize products. - Develop test plans and perform design verification and validation to ensure product quality and performance. - Transition products from design to industrialization and commercialization. Qualifications Required: - Masters degree in electrical engineering is preferred. - At least 10 years of experience in the design and development of electrical components, with a focus on LV to EHV products preferably in Surge Arresters portfolio. - Strong understanding of electrical circuits, insulation design, and electrical stress analysis. - In-depth understanding and experience in various EHV components such as surge arresters, GIS switchgear, cables, cable accessories, solar products, CT, PT, and transformers. - Expertise in product sizing, power system analysis, and design of both outdoor and indoor electrical systems. - Thorough understanding of Cable system and applications from LV to HV. - Strong understanding of Electrical system architecture and impact assessment of equipment on the overall system with strength in understanding interconnections between various critical components. - Proficiency in partial discharge (PD) analysis, transient analysis, circuit design, earthing and grounding design, and high voltage engineering. - Expertise in electrical, electrostatic, and magnetic FEA simulations, short circuit analysis, and power arc analysis. - Experience in EMI/EMC design.,
