Job Description

  • A sales engineer combines technical expertise with sales skills to sell complex products or services, acting as a bridge between a company's technical offerings and customer needs.
  • They analyze customer requirements, provide technical support, and develop solutions, often involving product demonstrations, presentations, and post-sales support. They also play a key role in securing and renewing orders, negotiating contracts, and ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Understanding Customer Needs: Sales engineers work with customers to understand their requirements, pain points, and technical specifications.
  • Technical Solutions: They develop and propose customized technical solutions that align with customer needs and product capabilities.

Product Demonstrations &

  • Presentations: They deliver technical presentations and product demonstrations to showcase the features and benefits of the products or services.
  • Sales Support: They provide technical support to the sales team during pre-sales and post-sales activities, helping to close deals and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Liaison Role: They act as a liaison between the sales team and the product development team, communicating customer feedback and contributing to product improvements.
  • Negotiation & Closing: They participate in contract negotiations and work to close sales deals.
  • Relationship Building: They build and maintain strong relationships with clients, fostering long-term partnerships.
  • Market Research: They may also conduct market research to stay updated on industry trends and competitor offerings.
  • Troubleshooting: They help troubleshoot technical issues and provide support to customers.

Training: They may provide training to customers on the use of products or services.
Key Skills:

  • Technical Expertise: A strong understanding of the technical aspects of the products or services being sold.
