Job Description

Position: Coatings Scientist (Research Associate / Research Engineer)

Position summary:

A coatings scientist building an expertise in surface science and wettability supporting the exploration of new coating materials systems on glass like ceramic frits, sol-gel, silicates etc.

Responsibilities

Design, optimize, and implement wet chemical methods for the synthesis and application of organic and inorganic coatings.
Help in the establishment of surface engineering competency at the R&D centre.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to solve technical challenges and develop innovative solutions.
Analyze and characterize materials using advanced microscopy, spectroscopy, and other relevant techniques.
Document experimental procedures, results, and interpretations in technical reports.
Ensure adherence to safety protocols and foster a culture of safety and collaboration in the laboratory.

Qualifications

Master’s in materials science and engineering with 1 - 3 years of experience

Skills

Specific skills / Personal attributes

Safety mindset with good awareness of chemical hygiene
Strong experimental background and analytical skills
Some familiarity in coatings and surface science preferred
Good communication skills
Strong team player with an ability to connect with partners in operations, quality, R&D and business.
