Job Summary

The CNC Lathe Machine Operator is responsible for operating, setting, and maintaining CNC Lathe machines to produce high-precision components as per engineering drawings and quality standards. The role requires strong technical knowledge, machining experience, and the ability to work in a fast-paced production environment.

Key Responsibilities

1. Machine Operation & Setup

• Operate CNC Lathe machines as per job requirements.
• Perform machine setup, tool changes, offsets, and adjustments.
• Upload and modify CNC programs if required (FANUC / Siemens / Haas controls).
• Ensure correct cutting tools, fixtures, and work-holdings are installed.

2. Production & Quality

• Read and interpret engineering drawings and machining specifications.
• Produce components within tolerance and as per quality standards.
• Inspect machined parts using Vernier, Micrometer, Height Gauge, Bore Gauge, etc.
• Maintain production records, inspection sheets, and job cards.

3. Maintenance & Safety

• Perform basic preventive maintenance of CNC lathe machines.
• Check coolant level, lubrication, and machine cleanliness.
• Follow all safety guidelines and maintain a clean working environment.

4. Process Improvement

• Identify machining issues and propose corrective actions.
• Support productivity improvement, cycle time reduction, and tool life enhancement.
• Coordinate with supervisors and quality engineers for process optimization.

Skills & Competencies

• Strong knowledge of CNC Lathe machine operations.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
• Experience with measurement instruments and gauges.
• Knowledge of G-code, M-code is an added advantage.
• Basic machine maintenance skills.
• Problem-solving and quality-oriented mindset.

Qualifications

• ITI / Diploma in Mechanical, Machinist, Turner, or related field.
• Hands-on experience operating CNC Lathe machines.
