CNC - Asst Manager/Dept Manager

Role & responsibilities:

We are looking for an experienced CNC Operator with expertise in OD (Outside Diameter) and ID (Inside Diameter) grinding. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating CNC grinding machines to perform precise grinding operations on both OD and ID surfaces, ensuring that parts meet the required specifications and quality standards. This position demands a strong understanding of CNC programming, grinding techniques, and precision measurement tools.

• Set up, program, and operate CNC grinding machines for OD and ID grinding applications.
• Interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and specifications to understand part requirements and tolerances.
• Select and install appropriate grinding wheels, fixtures, and tools for each CNC grinding operation.
• Monitor machine performance and adjust settings (e.g., feed rates, speeds) to ensure optimal grinding efficiency and accuracy.
• Perform in-process and final inspections of parts using precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, dial indicators) to ensure they meet required dimensions and tolerances.
• Troubleshoot and resolve any machine or tooling issues to minimize downtime and maintain production schedules.
• Make necessary adjustments to CNC programs to ensure part quality and adherence to specifications.
• Maintain proper documentation of machining processes, including inspection results, machine maintenance, and production logs.
• Follow strict safety protocols and quality standards to ensure a safe working environment.
• Keep work area clean, organized, and safe, ensuring compliance with company safety regulations and policies.
• Collaborate with engineering and production teams to identify opportunities for process improvements.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a CNC Operator with expertise in OD and ID grinding.
• Strong knowledge of CNC programming and operation, particularly for grinding applications.
• Experience with both manual and CNC grinding machines.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics.
• Proficiency in using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and height gauges.
• Solid understanding of grinding processes, including wheel selection, speeds, feeds, and coolant usage.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and meet production goals.
• Familiarity with machine shop safety protocols and best practices.
• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or degree in CNC machining or related field preferred.
