CMDB & Change Management Specialist

Key Responsibilities

CMDB (Primary Evaluation Focus)

• Own and maintain the

  Configuration Management Database (CMDB)

  , ensuring data accuracy, completeness, and consistency
• Define, implement, and enforce

  CMDB data standards, naming conventions, and relationships

• Perform regular

  CMDB audits, reconciliations, and health checks

• Ensure proper identification, classification, and lifecycle management of

  Configuration Items (CIs)

• Work with IT teams to integrate CMDB with discovery tools and ITSM processes
  
• Produce CMDB-related reports, dashboards, and metrics for stakeholders
  

Change Management

• Support and enforce

  Change Management processes

  in alignment with ITIL best practices
• Assess

  change impact and risk

  using CMDB relationships and dependencies
• Participate in or support

  Change Advisory Board (CAB)

  meetings
• Ensure changes are properly documented, approved, and linked to relevant CIs
  
• Monitor post-change reviews and identify improvement opportunities
  

Collaboration & Governance

• Collaborate with infrastructure, application, security, and service teams
  
• Provide guidance and training on CMDB and Change Management processes
  
• Support continuous improvement initiatives across ITSM practices
  

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience with

  CMDB management

• Solid understanding of

  Change Management processes (ITIL-based)

• Experience with ITSM tools (e.g.,

  ServiceNow, BMC, Ivanti, Remedy

  , or similar)
• Ability to analyze CI relationships and assess change impact
  
• Strong documentation, reporting, and communication skills
  
• Attention to detail with a focus on data quality and governance
  

Preferred Qualifications

• ITIL Foundation or higher certification
  
• Experience with automated discovery and CMDB integrations
  
• Exposure to Incident, Problem, and Asset Management processes
  
• Experience in large or complex IT environments
  

Key Evaluation Criteria

• Depth of

  CMDB knowledge and data governance experience

• Practical understanding of

  Change Management workflows and impact analysis

• Ability to maintain accurate CI relationships and support decision-making
  
• Experience improving CMDB maturity and ITSM processes
