What youll do Our IT, InfoSec, Cyber Risk, and Business Ops team ensures trust and reliability by building and operating scalable technology solutions. We embrace Agile principles, DevOps practices, and infrastructure as code to support our global growth. The Developer Platform Engineer is crucial for developing and maintaining DocuSign s Cloud infrastructure and services. This role requires expertise in GenAI stacks, Cloud services, and CI/CD automation. We seek a self-directed engineer to reduce friction for software development through tooling and automation. This position is an individual contributor role reporting to the Sr. Manager, Observability. Responsibility Drive the enablement of various GenAI business use cases using Docusign infrastructure, with a strong emphasis on security, governance, and scalability Integrate generative AI models and applications into existing systems and developer workflows seamlessly Apply effective prompt engineering techniques to optimize token usage and enhance model output accuracy Consolidate structured and unstructured datasets into vector databases to build robust Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) systems, leveraging knowledge graphs where applicable Evaluate and implement cutting-edge PII detection and data anonymization methods to ensure compliance and privacy Build secure, cost-efficient auditing and monitoring systems to track GenAI usage and performance Maintain high standards for documentation of code, models, and processes to support maintainability, reproducibility, and cross-team collaboration Design, build, and scale secure, observable services using modern CI/CD and Observability tooling Collaborate closely with engineering teams to deliver impactful, customer-centric solutions and ensure internal user success Adopt a solution-oriented mindset working cross-functionally to provide scalable, practical responses to technical challenges Define and implement infrastructure and operational requirements that ensure high availability, performance, and security throughout the global software development lifecycle (SDLC) Support services from design to deployment, focusing on system design, self-service capabilities, automation, scalability, capacity planning, and reliability across the tech stack Job Designation Hybrid: Employee divides their time between in-office and remote work. Access to an office location is required. (Frequency: Minimum 2 days per week; may vary by team but will be weekly in-office expectation) Positions at Docusign are assigned a job designation of either In Office, Hybrid or Remote and are specific to the role/job. What you bring Basic Good understanding of RAG, embedding, knowledge graphs, and training LLMs Experience in NLP and Technical know-how of effective prompt engineering Ability to develop complex applications in LLM, including developing chatbots and AI agents to replace human support Experience with containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes 5+ years in software engineering, DevSecOps or similar role and experience with building and deploying mission-critical applications and IT solutions Experience in collaborating with developers and IT professionals to develop, troubleshoot, analyze and resolve problems Experience developing Observability/Telemetry solutions using Ansible, Datadog, Splunk, Terraform and other similar tools Experience developing secure CI/CD workflows using Github Actions, Docker, Code Deploy, ArgoCD, JFrog and other similar tools Experience working with and setting up developer platform tools such as backstage, port, spacelift, etc Experience working with and setting up secrets management tool like Hashicorp Vault 5+ years experience developing in a modern programming language (Python, Golang, Java) Good understanding of software development best practices from appropriate testing paradigms to effective peer code reviews and resilient architectures Proficiency with at least one cloud provider (preferably AWS or Azure Ability to understand customer requirements and translate them into meaningful dashboards, while also documenting observability solutions Experience in application release management with building and deploying application code to containers and servers Experience building integration platforms/infrastructure to seamlessly integrate with 3rd party applications Preferred Experience with configuration management tools at scale such as Ansible or AWS SSM Strong commitment to engineering excellence through automation, innovation, and documentation Good understanding of Cloud Security Experience working on a Scrum team in an Agile delivery environment Bachelor s in computer science or relevant experience Demonstrated track record working with geographically dispersed teams Strong communication and organizational skills Life at Docusign Working here Docusign is committed to building trust and making the world more agreeable for our employees, customers and the communities in which we live and work.
