Job Description

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Architecture & Design:

Define and evangelize the long-term cloud-native architecture vision, principles, and standards for our SaaS platform.
Architect end-to-end solutions focusing on microservices, event-driven design, security, scalability, and reliability.
Lead the design of a secure, efficient, multi-tenant SaaS architecture.
Create and maintain architecture artifacts, including diagrams, design documents, and decision records.

Technology Leadership & Governance:

Evaluate and select technologies, frameworks, and tools (e.g., service mesh, databases, monitoring solutions) with a focus on long-term value and integration.
Establish and govern coding standards, design patterns, and best practices for cloud-native development (Java/Python microservices).
Conduct architecture reviews to ensure adherence to design principles and identify potential risks or technical debt.

Cloud & Infrastructure Strategy:

Design the overarching cloud infrastructure strategy on
AWS or GCP
, ensuring alignment with security, compliance, and cost-optimization goals.
Define the Infrastructure as Code (IaC) standards and platform using
Terraform
.
Architect the
Kubernetes
platform strategy, including cluster design, networking, security, and the use of
Helm
for application packaging.
Design the event-streaming landscape using
Kafka
, defining topics, data flow, and integration patterns.
CI/CD & DevOps Enablement:
Architect the enterprise
CI/CD
and
GitOps
strategy to enable secure, automated, and reliable software delivery at scale.
Guide and mentor the DevOps team in implementing and optimizing the toolchain and processes.
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Mentorship:
Act as a technical advisor to senior leadership, providing insights on technology trends, risks, and opportunities.
Collaborate with Product Management to ensure technical feasibility and prioritize architectural enablers in the roadmap.
Mentor lead developers and senior engineers, fostering a culture of architectural excellence and continuous learning.

Required Skills & Qualifications || Must-Have:

12+ years of software development experience, with at least 3 years in a dedicated Architect or Principal Engineer role.
Proven track record of architecting, designing, and delivering scalable
SaaS-based applications
and
Microservices
ecosystems.
Expert-level knowledge of cloud-native design patterns, microservices principles (decoupling, DDD, resilience), and event-driven architecture.
Deep, hands-on expertise with
Kubernetes
(cluster design, networking, security) and
Helm
.
Mastery of
Infrastructure as Code
(IaC) using
Terraform
to define complex cloud environments.
Extensive experience designing and integrating
Kafka
-based event-driven systems.
Authority in designing and governing enterprise-grade
CI/CD pipelines
and
GitOps
practices.
Proven experience architecting and deploying production solutions on a major cloud provider (
AWS or GCP
).
