Cloud Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with cloud migrations and support hybrid-cloud architectures
• Build and manage infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools like Terraform, or Bicep.
• Monitor cloud environments to ensure performance, reliability, and security.
• Implement and maintain cloud security controls including IAM, encryption, and audit logging.
• Collaborate with development and operations teams to design scalable, resilient solutions.
• Optimize cloud resources and manage cost-efficiency across environments.
• Troubleshoot cloud-related issues and provide on-call support as required.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent hands-on experience).
• Communicate technical and non-technical information clearly to a wide range of audiences.
• Ability to coordinate clear, professional, and culturally appropriate communication with engineers and cross-functional teams in Germany.
• Candidates with excellent English communication skills, preferably with RP (Received Pronunciation) English, are preferred.
• Respond promptly and professionally to internal and external inquiries via email, phone, and in-person meetings.
• Participate in and lead meetings, presentations, and discussions with clarity and purpose.
• Collaborate with cross-functional, international teams to ensure mutual understanding and shared goals.
• 35 years of experience in cloud engineering or related roles.
• Experience with ticketing systems (e.g.Fresh service ServiceNow, Jira Service Desk).
• Deep expertise in Microsoft Azure architecture and design.
• Strong understanding of core cloud services: compute, storage, networking, databases, and monitoring.
• Experience with scripting and automation (e.g., Bash, PowerShell).
• Familiarity with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes or ECS).
• Knowledge of version control systems like Git.
• Solid understanding of networking concepts, cloud security, and access management.
• Understanding of ITIL or service management best practices.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Cloud certifications such as, Microsoft Azure Administrator, or Azure Solution Architect.
• Experience with serverless architectures (e.g., Azure Functions).

Exposure to monitoring and logging tools like Azure or Paessler PRTG.
