Role & responsibilities

• Lead the civil design activities for solar PV plants, BESS, and electrical substations.
• Develop civil engineering designs including foundations, structures, roads, drainage, retaining walls, and site grading.
• Perform structural analysis and design of foundations for solar panels, transformers, switchyards, and battery racks using relevant design codes.
• Prepare detailed civil drawings and construction documents using AutoCAD and other design software.
• Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, and structural engineering teams to ensure integrated project design.
• Review and approve contractor and vendor civil designs, drawings, and shop drawings.
• Conduct site visits to assess existing conditions, verify design feasibility, and support construction teams.
• Ensure all designs comply with applicable standards, regulations, and safety requirements.
• Support project managers in technical bid evaluations, cost estimation, and client interactions.
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior engineers.
• Keep up to date with industry trends, new technologies, and best practices in renewable energy civil design.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Bachelors or Masters degree in Civil Engineering.
• 8-10 years of relevant experience in civil design for solar power projects, BESS facilities, and electrical substations.
• Strong knowledge of foundation design for solar arrays, transformers, switchgear, and battery racks.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and structural design software; experience with STAAD.Pro or similar tools is a plus.
• Familiarity with soil investigation reports, geotechnical parameters, and foundation recommendations.
• Sound understanding of relevant codes and standards such as IEC, IS, IEEE, or equivalent.
• Experience working with multidisciplinary teams and coordinating with electrical and mechanical engineers.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication, report writing, and stakeholder management skills.
• Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with renewable energy project execution in EPC environment.
• Knowledge of civil design requirements for high voltage substations.
• Exposure to project management and site supervision.
• Working knowledge of software such as Revit, ETABS, or similar.
