Civil QA/QC Engineer (Residential Projects)

Role Overview:

The Civil QA/QC Engineer is responsible for ensuring the highest standards of construction quality for the entire project. The role involves implementing quality standards, conducting inspections, coordinating with site teams and contractors, and ensuring strict compliance with the technical specifications, drawings, and IS standards.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Quality Control & Assurance

• Implement, monitor, and maintain QA/QC systems and procedures for residential projects.
• Inspect and verify all construction activities, including RCC, block work, plastering, waterproofing, finishing works, etc.
• Ensure materials, workmanship, and methods comply with approved drawings, specifications, IS codes, and QMS standards.
• Prepare and maintain quality documentation: ITPs, checklists, NCRs, corrective actions, inspection reports, etc.

2. Site Inspections & Coordination

• Conduct regular site inspections for civil, finishing, and structural works.
• Work closely with project engineers, site supervisors, and contractors to resolve quality issues.
• Verify contractor work against approved procedures, method statements, and drawings.
• Monitor concrete quality (mix design, slump test, cube casting, curing, etc.).

3. Documentation & Reporting

• Maintain detailed quality records, including test reports, calibration records, and material approvals.
• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly quality reports.
• Raise NCRs (Non-Conformance Reports) for deviations and follow up on corrective actions.

4. Testing & Compliance

• Coordinate with third-party labs for material testing (steel, cement, aggregates, concrete).
• Verify results and ensure compliance with IS standards.
• Conduct internal audits and support external audits (ISO/QMS).

5. Safety & Quality Integration

• Ensure quality processes align with safety requirements.
• Promote quality awareness among site teams through training and toolbox talks.

6. Vendor / Contractor Quality Monitoring

• Check and approve the quality of materials delivered to the site.
• Evaluate contractor performance with respect to quality compliance.

7. Continuous Improvement

• Recommend process improvements, quality best practices, and preventive measures to reduce defects and rework.

Skills & Competencies Required:

• Strong knowledge of IS codes, QA/QC standards, and residential construction practices.
• Excellent understanding of RCC, finishing works, structural elements, waterproofing, and material quality parameters.
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office, AutoCAD (basic), QA/QC reporting tools.
• Strong communication and documentation skills.
• Ability to handle multiple sites and ensure compliance.

Preferred Experience:

• Experience in

  large-scale residential apartment projects

  is highly preferred.
• Experience with

  ISO/QMS systems

  is an added advantage.
