Job Description

Role & responsibilities

1. Design & Engineering

Perform structural analysis and design of transmission towers (lattice steel structures) using software such as
STAAD.Pro
,
PLS-TOWER
.
Design tower foundations (pad, pile, raft, chimney, or under-reamed type) based on soil investigation reports.
Prepare design calculations, GA drawings, and fabrication drawings.
Check and validate tower members, loadings (wind, conductor, insulator loads), and deflection criteria.
Review and ensure compliance with relevant standards (IS 802, IS 456, IS 875, ASCE, IEC, etc.).
Optimize tower weight and foundation cost through value engineering.

2. Documentation & Coordination

Prepare Bill of Quantities (BOQ) and technical specifications.
Coordinate with geotechnical, electrical, and quality teams.
Maintain design documentation, calculation reports.
Support tendering and proposal teams with technical inputs and cost estimation.

3. Required Skills & Competencies:

Strong understanding of
steel structure design
and
foundation engineering
.
Proficiency in design software:
STAAD.Pro, AutoCAD, PLS-TOWER / TOWER, MS Office
.
Knowledge of
Indian and international codes
: IS 802, IS 456, IS 875, IS 1893, AISC, etc.
Ability to interpret tower schedules, load diagrams, and route profiles.
Excellent analytical, communication, and coordination skills.

Preferred candidate profile

Responsible for the analysis and design of civil and structural works related to transmission line towers and foundations.
