Chief Manager MasterData Management Domnic Lewis has been mandated to hire forChief Manager MasterData Management The Chief Manager of Data Management is responsible for overseeing the integrity, accuracy, and consistency of the organizations master data across all business units. This role involves developing data management strategies, implementing data governance practices, leading master data management tool implementation, and ensuring the successful integration of data management systems. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in data management, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to lead data projects in a fast-paced environment. Key Stakeholders: Internal: Infrastructure, Corporate, Business Stakeholders External: Vendors/Consultants Reporting Structure: Reports to Sr. Director, Business Transformation and Technology Essential Qualifications: Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, Data Management, or a related field; Masters degree highly preferred. Relevant Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in data management, with a focus on master data management. Proven knowledge of data governance, data quality, and data integration best practices. Skilled in writing policies and procedures to establish data standards and operating models. Strong project management skills with a proven track record. Experience in a pharmaceutical or medical device setting, including knowledge of relevant industry and regional data regulations and standards. Additional Relevant Experience: Experience with global cross-functional projects across different geographies and flexibility to work in various time zones. Proficiency in data management tools, such as SAP MDM, Informatics, or similar. Knowledge of SAP data elements highly preferred. Familiarity with data platforms such as Azure and AWS is desirable. Key Roles/Responsibilities: Data Governance and Strategy: Develop and implement comprehensive data management strategies aligned with company goals. Establish and enforce data governance policies and procedures (SOPs) to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and security. Collaborate with business stakeholders to define critical data elements, standards, policies, and procedures. Lead the Data Governance Council as the data champion and drive working group projects to improve data quality. Data Quality Management: Ensure business teams monitor and maintain master data quality across all systems and applications. Conduct regular data audits and clean-ups to identify and correct discrepancies and inaccuracies. Develop and implement data quality metrics and reporting tools to track and improve data quality over time. Schedule periodic data quality assessments and plans to address identified gaps. System Integration, Execution, and Management: Oversee the integration of master data across various business systems and applications. Act as Data Lead during S/4 HANA implementation, coordinating data cleansing, planning, testing, and migration from ECC to HANA. Collaborate with Corporate IT, Business IT, and other functions to implement MDM tools for seamless data flow and consistency. Manage and maintain MDM systems, including upgrades and enhancements. Serve as the principal subject matter expert for projects requiring data migration and integration. Support and lead business teams during data cutover/migration activities, ensuring uninterrupted operations during hypercare. Project and Stakeholder Management: Lead data management projects from initiation to completion, ensuring adherence to budget, timeline, and quality standards. Develop project plans, including tasks, timelines, resources, and milestones. Coordinate with cross-functional teams for successful project execution. Define clear roles and responsibilities for the working group and governance structure for data assets across regions and functions. Collaborate with business units to understand data needs and provide data-related support. Communicate data management strategies, policies, and procedures to stakeholders across the organization. Risk and Issue Management: Identify potential risks and issues related to master data and develop mitigation strategies. Monitor data management activities, identify deviations from plans, and take corrective action as necessary. Document and escalate risks and issues appropriately and work with stakeholders to resolve them in a timely manner. Other: Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement changes to enhance data management practices. Promote a culture of continuous improvement within the data management team.
