Job Description

Role & responsibilities

Carry out chemical and bacteriological analysis of raw water, treated water, and distribution samples.
Ensure water quality compliance with CPHEEO / BIS / WHO standards.
Conduct regular testing for parameters such as pH, turbidity, residual chlorine, hardness, TDS, alkalinity, and microbial counts.
Prepare daily / weekly / monthly water quality reports for submission to the management and authorities.
Supervise dosing of coagulants, disinfectants, and other treatment chemicals at treatment plants and pumping stations.
Monitor and optimize chemical consumption to ensure cost efficiency and effectiveness.
Maintain laboratory equipment, instruments, and calibration records.
Ensure compliance with safety norms in chemical handling, storage, and disposal.
Assist in field testing and random sampling at different project locations.
Support in audits, inspections, and statutory compliance documentation.
Train and guide operators / helpers in basic water testing and chemical handling practices.
Coordinate with operation & maintenance teams for corrective actions when quality deviations are observed.

Keep Reporting Manager informed on the day to day activities.
