Job Description

Role & responsibilities

1. Technical & R&D Responsibilities:

Lead the development, optimisation, and scale-up of agrochemical active ingredients (AI) and intermediates.
Supervise or conduct laboratory and pilot plant experiments for new product development and process improvement.
Ensure technology transfer from R&D to plant production with full documentation and safety protocols.
Collaborate with R&D and QA/QC to ensure product consistency and adherence to specifications.

2. Plant Operations:

Monitor and support day-to-day chemical manufacturing operations to ensure safety, efficiency, and compliance.
Troubleshoot process issues and implement corrective actions.
Work with cross-functional teams to improve yield, reduce cycle time, and minimise cost.

3. Quality & Compliance:

Ensure all processes meet environmental, health, and safety (EHS) standards.
Maintain compliance with national and international agrochemical regulatory requirements (CIBRC, REACH, EPA, etc.).
Oversee and contribute to analytical method development and validation.

4. Leadership (Managerial Level Only):

Lead and mentor a team of chemists, analysts, and plant technicians.
Prepare technical reports, project updates, and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
Coordinate with procurement, production planning, and supply chain for seamless operations.

Excellent understanding of chemical safety and regulatory standards.
Proficient in technical documentation and reporting.
Ability to lead and manage cross-functional teams.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills
