Position Title: Control Room Executive / Operations Monitoring Executive

Experience: Minimum 5 years total experience, with at least 3 years in a similar operations / transport monitoring domain

Role Overview

The Control Room Executive will be responsible for real-time monitoring, coordination, and control of bus operations using the Centralized Bus System (CBS). The role involves ensuring adherence to schedules, rapid incident response, seamless communication with field and depot teams, and maintaining high operational efficiency across routes.

Key Responsibilities

A. Real-Time Monitoring & Control

• Monitor live operational status of buses through the CBS platform, including GPS tracking, trip status, and scheduling data.
• Track vehicle movements, route progress, stoppages, and operational exceptions.
• Identify and address deviations such as delays, breakdowns, unauthorized stoppages, and route diversions.
• Log operational issues and report them to relevant stakeholders, including depot managers and field service engineers.

B. Bus Dispatching & Schedule Management

• Ensure timely dispatch of buses as per predefined schedules and depot allocations.
• Coordinate closely with depot managers and on-ground teams to manage departures, arrivals, and route adherence.
• Modify schedules or reroute buses during emergencies, disruptions, or operational contingencies.

C. Incident Handling & Response

• Respond promptly to incidents such as vehicle breakdowns, accidents, device malfunctions, or service disruptions.
• Coordinate with field technicians, depot managers, emergency response teams, and other stakeholders to ensure swift resolution.
• Escalate critical incidents to senior operations leadership and document corrective actions taken.

D. Communication & Coordination

• Maintain continuous communication with drivers, conductors, depot staff, and management teams.
• Provide clear and timely operational instructions to ensure smooth field execution.
• Support passenger experience indirectly by ensuring reliable, safe, and timely bus operations.

E. Documentation & Reporting

• Maintain accurate records of bus dispatches, incidents, delays, and operational adjustments.
• Generate daily and weekly operational reports using the CBS system.
• Document SOP deviations, recurring issues, and escalation cases for management review.

F. System Operations & Compliance

• Operate CBS and related operational systems efficiently, ensuring accuracy and data integrity.
• Adhere strictly to operational SOPs, safety standards, and performance benchmarks.
• Maintain control room discipline and ensure readiness for audits and compliance checks.

Desired Skills & Competencies

• Strong understanding of fleet operations, transport logistics, or public transportation systems.
• Experience working with GPS-based monitoring or centralized operations systems.
• Excellent coordination, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple incidents simultaneously.
• High attention to detail and strong reporting/documentation capabilities.

Qualification

• Graduate in any discipline (Engineering / Logistics / Operations preferred).
• Prior experience in transport operations, fleet management, or control room operations is mandatory.
