Job Description

Role Overview: As a Category Specialist at HVDC, you will be responsible for supporting global sourcing initiatives in collaboration with the global category manager. You will play a key role in transforming category strategies into actionable plans and ensuring that procurement activities align with HVDC business strategies and corporate purchasing policies. This is an opportunity to join a growing team where you can develop your role within the company. Key Responsibilities: - Support strategic sourcing activities by working closely with the category manager, driving RFQs and RFPs for BRM and project execution to meet budget, quality, and lead time targets. - Conduct benchmark studies as needed for specific sourcing initiatives. - Assist in implementing and managing category strategies to deliver savings and efficiencies. - Ensure that negotiation results, quotations, and proposals align with project requirements and budget targets, pursuing saving goals. - Provide proper quotation comparisons to support purchasing decisions and update costs for project execution against budget targets. - Help develop and maintain the category supply base, focusing on total cost, quality, lead time, and capacity to meet supply planning needs. - Manage supplier relationships to ensure best value for HVDC and drive continuous improvement over contract lifecycles. - Maintain valid agreements and contracts in SAP Ariba, monitoring expiration dates and facilitating updates and amendments. - Ensure supplier compliance with laws, regulations, standards, and directives required by Hitachi Energy. - Support category-related actions on qualification, audits, and supplier claim values, initiating improvement projects when necessary. - Coordinate purchase requests, initiate purchase orders, and collect order acknowledgments from suppliers as needed. - Collaborate with global SCM team members and stakeholders to ensure timely and quality procurement, production, and delivery of goods and materials. - Interact with stakeholders in project execution, including Engineering, project management, and global SCM organization. - Support the Business in SCM-related topics and communicate effectively internally and externally to drive SCM activities and initiatives. Qualifications Required: - Academic degree in a relevant field such as BE (Electrical / Electronics / Mechanical), Supply Chain Management, or equivalent experience. - Professional experience in a supply chain role, category management, strategic sourcing, project management, or procurement. - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously. - Fluency in English, both written and spoken. - Experience in HVDC projects is an added advantage.
