Job Description

As a Category Manager for Womenswear, you will be responsible for managing and driving the performance of the womenswear product category. Your role will involve strategic planning, market analysis, product assortment, pricing, and working closely with internal teams to ensure that our collections meet the needs of our customers while aligning with company goals. You will work to maximize sales, profitability, and brand positioning through the effective management of the womenswear product range. Develop and implement the overall product strategy for the womenswear category, ensuring it aligns with the brand vision and business goals. Analyze market trends, consumer behavior, and competitor activity to curate and refine product assortments. Collaborate with design, buying, and marketing teams to create collections that meet customer needs while staying ahead of trends. Monitor category sales performance and identify opportunities for growth and optimization. Set and track financial targets, including sales, margin, and inventory turnover. Conduct post-launch performance reviews and adjust strategies as needed to achieve profitability goals. Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers and manufacturers to ensure high-quality production and timely delivery. Negotiate pricing, terms, and product availability to maximize cost-effectiveness and margins. Develop and implement pricing strategies to maintain competitiveness while ensuring profitability. Work closely with the marketing team to plan and execute promotional campaigns to drive sales for the womenswear category. Manage inventory levels for the womenswear category, ensuring optimal stock availability and replenishment cycles. Work with supply chain and logistics teams to manage order quantities, lead times, and delivery schedules. Work closely with the marketing, design, and retail teams to ensure a seamless go-to-market process for new collections. Provide sales teams with product training and materials to ensure they have the knowledge to sell the products effectively. Conduct regular consumer research to understand the evolving preferences of the target demographic. Stay ahead of fashion trends, conducting competitor analysis to inform product decisions. Prepare and present regular reports on category performance, key metrics, and growth opportunities. Manage the category budget and track expenditures to stay within financial targets. Qualifications: Education: Bachelors degree in Fashion Merchandising, Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field (Masters degree is a plus). Experience: Minimum 10 years of experience in product management, merchandising, or category management in fashion, with at least 2 years focused on women's western wear. Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of the fashion retail landscape, consumer behavior, trends, and competitive environment. Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and negotiation skills. Ability to manage different functions to ensure desired output. Personal Attributes: Creative with an eye for fashion and trends.
