Category Buyer - Billable Services

THE ROLE

For the sub-category Billable Services, we seek a Category Buyer with a strong Procurement background and with strong focus on internal business partnerships and supplier management. The successful candidate will play a critical role in managing the procurement of third-party services for customer projects within SAP's Global Procurement Organization and will report directly to the Vice President Service Procurement.

The Category Buyer for Billable Services will support the respective Category Manager and the implementation and execution of the category strategy. Besides procurement-related tasks, they will be responsible for Stakeholder Management including Demand Management and act as procurement leader & trusted business partner for all Line of Business representatives. This position is highly strategic and involves direct impact on revenue by ensuring the successful sourcing and subcontracting of professional and technology services.

An integral part of the job will be the coordination and execution of key strategic sourcing initiatives, contract negotiations, and professional supplier relationship management to ensure high-quality service delivery. The buyer will be embedded into the virtual account team for large scale service opportunities, representing procurement in interactions with executives in service sales and delivery on a regular basis

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:

• University degree preferably in Business Administration or a related field
• Understanding of end to end procurement and sourcing strategies
• Open-minded and willing to drive change
• Knowledge of purchasing systems and purchasing processes
• Fluent English (spoken, written)
• Ability to work in international teams and virtual environment
• Solid stakeholder- and supplier management-, communication and negotiation skills
• Strong collaborative mindset and ability to manage complex stakeholder relationship

WORK EXPERIENCE:

• 8+ years' experience in progressive procurement within a multinational business
• Ability to crystallize business requirements and to translate them into actionable steps
• Experience working in a fast-paced complex environment
• Experience in professional services, application consulting, and development is a plus
• Proven experience in contract negotiations and sourcing

Billable Services as part of SAP's Global Procurement Organization defines & executes global sourcing strategies for third party procurement required to bid and deliver customer projects.
