Catalog Specialist

Role & responsibilities

JD:

* Curate and maintain the data catalog by capturing, validating and enriching the metadata for

diverse real world data sources not limited to EHR, claims, H1, patient, lab results, pharmacy.

* Manage governance, cataloging, and metadata for a wide range of data typesincluding real-

world data, clinical, digital health, biomarkers, multi-omics, lab, imaging datasets

* Collaborate with data management, platform team, data owners & requestors to accurately

capture the data access guidelines.

* Participate in proof-of-concept initiatives that evaluate data governance and metadata

enhancements, demonstrating the business value realized through improved data management

practices.

* Develop and monitor KPIs for metadata quality, completeness, and compliance across domains

* Support data literacy initiatives by helping users navigate and leverage the catalog for self-

service analytics, aiding in AI adoption and integration.

* Conduct analytics-driven quality assessments on all metadata fields for existing data to ensure

accuracy and reliability for downstream usage

* Comprehensive document management for data catalog procedures, updates, and standards.

Ensure all catalog-related artifacts are up to date, accessible, and aligned with organizational

policies.

* Seamless and crisp navigation of the data catalog, assisting users in efficiently locating and

utilizing the data they need.

* Ensure Cataloging visibility and effective tracking of datasets not natively cataloged on our

platform

* Collaborate with data management, platform team, data owners & requestors to accurately

capture the data access guidelines.

* Develop and monitor KPIs for metadata quality, completeness, and compliance across domains

Required:

* 3+ years of experience in data cataloging or data management.

* Exposure to Real World Data across diverse sources

* Hands on proficiency with SQL & Python

* Past experience with Alations cataloging platform

* Exposure to API based metadata extraction, scripting (Python, REST APIs) or automation for

catalog updates

* Familiarity with automated metadata ingestion & catalog curation workflows.
