Job Description

A hospital cashier handles patient payments, manages financial transactions, issues receipts, and reconciles daily accounts, ensuring all financial records are accurate. Key duties include processing various payment types, assisting with billing inquiries, and working with administrative and billing teams. Strong customer service, attention to detail, and professionalism are essential for interacting with patients and supporting the hospital's financial operations. Financial Transaction Management

  • Processing Payments: Receive and process payments from patients, including cash, checks, and electronic transfers.
  • Issuing Receipts: Provide official receipts to patients for all payments received.
  • Managing Deposits: Prepare and make bank deposits of all collected cash and checks at the end of the shift or banking day.
  • Reconciliation: Reconcile daily cash and verify account balances, balancing cash on hand and investigating any discrepancies.

Patient Interaction & Support

  • Billing Inquiries: Assist patients with billing-related questions and provide clear information on financial procedures.
  • Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service, handling patient concerns and ensuring a positive experience.
  • Information Provision: Provide directions and general assistance to patients, acting as a point of contact at the front desk or cashier office.

Administrative and Record-Keeping Duties

  • Maintaining Records: Maintain systematic filing of all financial reports and records.
  • Generating Reports: Prepare and submit daily collection reports and other financial documents to management.
  • Ad Hoc Support: Provide administrative support, such as managing incoming post or handling cash advances.

Collaboration and Coordination

  • Inter-Departmental Communication: Work closely with patient registration, the billing department, and other hospital staff to ensure smooth financial operations.
  • Coordination: Coordinate with other sections within the business office to achieve overall departmental objectives.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹20,000.00 per month
