Job Description

1: Procure and negotiate rate proposals – Ad hoc and RFPs

• Understand market price and establish lane rates for sales and ops team

• Source, negotiate, and grow current and future carriers network capacity to land more business

• Stay competitive by continue procuring and developing small carriers (less than 5 trucks) or super owner operators

• Negotiate, set up and manage carrier contracts and service agreements for contractual business

• find backup carriers for niche lanes and set up carrier for complex project

• Identify carriers and cross-docks that fit our client’s network requirements.

• Work with management team to periodically review and update carrier SOPs including contract renewal, cost negotiation, fuel adjustment

• support operation team and sales team to build or expand carrier base for new business model, and design cost effective solutions for customers

• Sharpen your negotiation and customer service skills alongside your Carrier Sales team and manager.

• Prepare mutual-benefit contract and freight rate for customer if needed

• Continually improve team profitability based on cost analysis 2: Maintain carrier profiles and develop relationship

• Maintain internal carrier google sheet, understand market rates, areas of fraud, compile carrier list

• Monitor and evaluate carrier performance and safety compliance, provide regular feedback for quality assurance

• Establish, build, and maintain professional, long-lasting business relationships with carriers

• Document, track and review carrier issues and concerns, prepare action plans to avoid repetitive problems

  • • Focus on building new relationships with carrier partners across Mexico-US-Canada border 3: Carrier Contracts and Vetting
  • • Help address potential issues, Including periodically review unbilled invoices, loss loads, non-freight loads and revised invoices
  • • Follow established procedures and protocol in carrier setup ensuring carrier have active authorities, COI, documents etc.
