Job Description

Carpenter – Events & Exhibition

Department

Reports To

Site Supervisor / Project Manager

Job Purpose

To fabricate, assemble, install, and dismantle wooden structures, exhibition stalls, stage sets, and event installations as per approved drawings, timelines, and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

1. Fabrication & Installation

  • Read and interpret technical drawings, shop drawings, and layout plans.
  • Fabricate exhibition stalls, display units, stage backdrops, counters, platforms, and custom furniture.
  • Install wooden frameworks, panels, partitions, flooring, and fixtures at site.
  • Ensure accurate measurements, alignment, and finishing quality.

2. Dismantling & Re-use

  • Safely dismantle exhibition structures after event completion.
  • Sort, label, and pack reusable materials for storage or transport.
  • Minimize material damage and wastage during dismantling.

3. Coordination & Teamwork

  • Coordinate with painters, electricians, fabricators, and supervisors on site.
  • Follow instructions from the Site Supervisor or Project Manager.
  • Assist in last-minute modifications as required during live events.

4. Tools, Materials & Safety

  • Operate carpentry tools and machinery safely (hand tools, power tools).
  • Maintain tools and report damages or shortages.
  • Follow safety procedures, PPE usage, and site safety guidelines.
  • Maintain housekeeping standards at the workshop and site.

5. Quality & Compliance

  • Ensure work meets approved design, quality, and finish standards.
  • Comply with company SOPs, ISO procedures, and site rules.
  • Report quality issues, deviations, or risks to the supervisor.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong carpentry and joinery skills
  • Ability to work from drawings and measurements
  • Knowledge of plywood, MDF, laminates, and hardware
  • Time management and ability to work under tight deadlines
  • Physical stamina for site work and long hours during events
  • Team-oriented and adaptable

Qualifications & Experience

  • ITI / Trade Certificate in Carpentry (preferred)
  • 2–5 years’ experience in events, exhibitions, interiors, or stage fabrication
  • Prior exhibition or event site experience is an advantage

Working Conditions

  • Workshop and on-site work at exhibition venues
  • Night shifts, extended hours, and travel as per project requirements
  • Physically demanding work involving lifting and installation

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹38,859.22 per month

Work Location: In person
