Role & Responsibilities

The CAM Programmer will be responsible for developing, validating, and optimizing CNC programs for 3+1 axis Haas milling machines and 2 axis Haas turning machines. The role ensures efficient machining processes to produce high-quality components as per design specifications while supporting prototyping teams for smooth execution.

Detailed JD Responsibilities:

• Develop CAM programs using software (hyperMill & UG NX) for 3+1 axis milling and 2 axis turning operations.
  
• Select appropriate tools, define machining strategies, and optimize cutting parameters for productivity and quality.
  
• Perform program simulations, verify collisions & gauges for safety, and validate programs through virtual & on-machine prove-outs.
  
• Manual editing of CNC programs, verify for safe execution on CNC machines.
  
• Prepare comprehensive process sheets, setup sheets, and tool lists for machinists.
  
• Support CNC machine setup and troubleshoot machining issues as needed.
  
• Ensure adherence to design specifications, tolerances, and GD&T requirements.
  
• Collaborate with the Internal Process Engineering & Planning team for smooth execution.
  
• Maintain program archives, revision controls, and documentation standards.
  
• Inspect finished products and compare them with requirements to determine if the process has been completed properly.
  
• Ability to be flexible with last minute schedule changes, location changes, time of shift changes as per business need.
  
• Record all CAM actions and quality logs.
  

Skill Set:

• Minimum 2-4 years of CAM programming experience for CNC milling (3+1 axis) and turning machines, preferably Haas
  
• Strong knowledge of machining processes, tooling, and fixturing.
  
• Hands-on experience on milling & turning machines.
  
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T.
  
• Proficiency in CAM software (hyperMill & UG NX) programming and CNC codes (G/M codes).
  
• Familiarity with precision measuring tools like calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
  
• Hands-on experience in proving out programs and supporting shopfloor teams.
  
• Good problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
  
• A keen eye for detail and results-driven approach.
  
• Good communication skills.
