Job Description

Job summary Designs precise, large-scale MDF patterns from 3D data for the creation of FRP (Fiber Reinforced Polymer) parts, optimizing them for CNC milling and subsequent tooling processes. Key responsibilities Develop 3D CAD models of large MDF patterns, optimizing pattern segmentation and layout for efficient nesting on MDF stock material and within CNC machine bed envelopes. Generate CNC toolpaths for MDF patterns. Collaborate with design and engineering teams. Ensure pattern accuracy for FRP tooling. Required skills and qualifications Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field. 3-5 years experience in pattern making, tooling, or a similar role, ideally with large patterns. Proficiency in relevant CAD/CAM software including SolidWorks, Solid Edge, and/or NX. Strong understanding of MDF properties and CNC machining processes. Familiarity with FRP composite materials and mold-making principles. Excellent collaboration and problem-solving skills. A strong portfolio showcasing relevant pattern design projects is highly desirable.
