Job Description Division/Department: Sales Location: Patna Job Title: Business Development Manager Reports to: Team Leader Type of position: Full time Normal Hours of work: Monday to Saturday 10:00am to 6:00pm You may be required to work additional hours as may be necessary or appropriate to enable you to carry out your duties properly. JOB OBJECTIVES A Business Development Manager (BDM) plays a crucial role in driving the company's growth by identifying business opportunities, managing key client relationships, and expanding the company's market presence. BDMs often have a more strategic and managerial role, overseeing larger accounts and leading the business development team. Roles & Responsibility Develop and implement business development strategies to achieve company goals and objectives. Identify new market segments, emerging trends, and potential business opportunities and collaborate with senior management to set targets and align business development efforts with overall company strategy. Generate high-quality leads through networking, partnerships, events, and other business activities and identify and pursue new business opportunities, industries, and markets for the company's products or services. Assess potential risks and create plans to mitigate them while expanding into new markets. Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with new and existing clients and conduct meetings with potential clients, understanding their business needs, and offering tailored solutions. Lead sales presentations and product demonstrations for prospective clients and oversee the contract negotiation process and ensure successful deal closures. Lead and mentor a team of business development executives and sales professionals, provide guidance, training, and support to team members to ensure optimal performance and collaborate with internal teams, such as marketing, product, and operations, to align efforts and optimize business development outcomes. Meet and exceed sales targets and KPIs, monitor sales performance, track key metrics, and prepare regular reports for senior management and work with the sales team to refine sales strategies and techniques to boost conversion rates. Ensure exceptional customer service to maintain long-term relationships with key clients, identify opportunities for upselling and cross-selling to existing clients and resolve any client issues or concerns in a timely and professional manner. Conduct in-depth market research to understand competitor offerings, customer preferences, and industry trends and develop insights from market data and adjust business development strategies accordingly. Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with clients, ensuring a win-win outcome for both parties and close high-value deals and ensure smooth transitions from sales to project execution or delivery. Maintain detailed records of client interactions, sales activities, and contracts and provide regular reports and updates to senior management on business development performance and forecasts. JOB RELATED EXPERIENCE & KNOWLEDGE Minimum 3-4 years of experience in respective field. Previous experience in sales or business development is often required. A Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Sales, or a related field is typically required. EDUCATION & SKILL REQUIREMENTS Proven ability to lead a team and drive business initiatives. Strong ability to sell, negotiate, and close high-value deals. Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. Works well with other teams to achieve organizational goals. Ability to identify and resolve issues effectively. Ability to develop long-term business strategies and identify market trends. Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills. Ability to identify business challenges and develop effective solutions. Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.
