Business Analyst

Roles/Responsibilities:

• Define Balancing and Control Requirements: Collaborate with project stakeholders, including finance, IT, and development teams, to understand system integration requirements and identify the balancing and control needs across different systems. Serve as the primary point of contact and subject matter expert for all matters related to systems balancing and control within the Finance Department.

• Develop Balancing and Control Strategies: Formulate comprehensive strategies and frameworks to achieve seamless data balancing and control between systems. Design methodologies that ensure accurate data transfer, reconciliation, and synchronization. Conduct thorough analysis and evaluation of existing and proposed systems to identify potential risks, control gaps, and areas for improvement.

• Coordinate System Integration: Work closely with IT and development teams to oversee the integration of various systems. Ensure that data flowssmoothly between different platforms, interfaces, and databases while maintaining data consistency and accuracy.

• Define Control Mechanisms: Establish control mechanisms in collaboration with other stakeholders, such as data validation routines, exception handling processes, and reconciliation procedures, to identify and resolve discrepancies or inconsistencies between systems.

• Perform Data Testing: Design and execute testing strategies, including integration testing, to validate system functionality, data accuracy, and adherence to established policies and controls. Conduct regular data integrity checks to identify any discrepancies or anomalies.

• Collaborate with Stakeholders: Partner with product owners, project managers, and other stake holders to align balancing and control practices with project objectives and regulatory requirements. Provide guidance and support to address any issues related to system integration or data integrity.

• Document Processes and Procedures: Create comprehensive documentation and control frameworks, to ensure consistent and standardized practices across the project/systems. Maintain updated documentation as systems evolve.

• Monitor and Report on Balancing and Control: Ensure monitoring tools, metrics, and reports to track the effectiveness of balancing and control efforts. Regularly communicate progress and recommendations to project stakeholders and senior management.

Skills Required:

Bachelor's degree in finance, computer science, or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications (e.g., CPA, PMP) are a plus.

Strong knowledge of financial systems, banking operations, and regulatory requirements, with a focus on controls, risk management, and data integrity.

Strong understanding of databases, and data structures.

Proven track record of designing and implementing effective control frameworks and policies in complex, multi-system environments.

Proficiency in data manipulation tools, database management systems, and scripting languages.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and address control gaps and risks in complex system environments.

Familiarity with project management methodologies and agile development practices.

Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work closely with cross-functional teams.

Detail-oriented approach, with a focus on data accuracy, consistency, and reconciliation.

Ability to manage multiple priorities, work under tight deadlines, and adapt to changing project requirements
