Business Analyst

Job Responsibilities

This role acts as a liaison between the Department of Content Acquisition and Preparation, IT, and Global partners to help facilitate and translate business needs into functional requirements. The Business Analyst works with business stakeholders to determine and document business requirements, participates in application implementation and development projects, confirms applications meet business requirements, and collaborates with IT to troubleshoot and resolve system problems.

Job Requirements:

• Provide business analysis and testing support to meet business objectives

• Evaluate suppliers electronic content and metadata against a standard template
• Review PDF / XML (Extensible Markup Language) files to identify critical components and data patterns to assist in defining business process rules and roles for processing through various workflows
• Research supplier websites for targeted information
• Track and report on changes to data formats and packaging, collaborate with IT to troubleshoot and resolve system problems
• Perform quality audits and support change verification and approval
• Develop searching skills in CAS products and online resources • Provide input and recommendations for prioritizing work • Provide end user training and assists with user information and reporting needs

Minimum Job Requirements

• Minimum of a bachelors degree in a technical or business-related field.
• Experience analyzing xml document format
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to understand technical and publishing issues, and communicate those to management, experts and end users
• Strong data analysis and problem-solving skills
• Highly motivated with excellent attention to detail
• Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
• Self-starter and quick learner with the ability to work independently and in a team environment
• Intermediate knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite; especially Excel
