Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Business Intelligence Developer with expertise in both Power BI and Business Objects (BOBJ) to join our team on a one-year contract basis. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of hands-on experience in BI development and data visualization.

Primary Skills Required

Power BI

• Proficiency in Power BI Desktop, Power BI Service, and Power BI Mobile
• Experience with DAX (Data Analysis Expressions) for creating calculated columns and measures
• Knowledge of Power Query for data transformation and cleansing
• Ability to create interactive dashboards, reports, and data visualizations
• Understanding of Power BI architecture, security, and administration
• Experience with Power BI gateways and data refresh scheduling

Business Objects (BOBJ)

• Hands-on experience with SAP BusinessObjects suite including:
• Web Intelligence (WebI) for report development
• Universe Designer for semantic layer creation
• Information Design Tool (IDT)
• Crystal Reports for pixel-perfect reporting
• Knowledge of BOBJ architecture and administration
• Experience with hierarchies, variables, and advanced reporting features

Technical Skills

• Strong SQL skills for data querying and manipulation
• Experience with data modeling and ETL processes
• Knowledge of database systems (SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, etc.)
• Understanding of data warehousing concepts
• Proficiency in Excel for data analysis and reporting

Added Advantage

• Snowflake:

  Experience with Snowflake cloud data platform including:
• Data loading and unloading
• SQL optimization in Snowflake environment
• Understanding of Snowflake architecture and features
• Integration experience with BI tools and Snowflake

Additional Preferred Skills

• Experience with other BI tools (Tableau, QlikView, etc.)
• Knowledge of Python or R for data analysis
• Understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies
• Cloud platforms experience (Azure, AWS, GCP)
• Data governance and security best practices

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain interactive dashboards and reports using Power BI
• Create complex reports and universes in Business Objects
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand reporting requirements
• Optimize report performance and ensure data accuracy
• Implement data security and access controls
• Troubleshoot and resolve BI-related issues
• Document technical specifications and user guides
• Participate in data migration and system integration projects

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
• 3-5 years of proven experience in BI development
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
• Experience in client-facing roles preferred
