Blood Bank Technician

We are looking a skilled and detail-oriented Blood Bank Technician to join our medical team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing blood collection, testing, processing, labeling, storage and distribution of blood and blood products. Key Responsibilities:

• Collect, test and process blood and blood components according to standard protocols.
• Label and store blood products in accordance with regulatory guidelines (e.g., NABH)
• Conduct blood typing, cross matching, antibody screening and compatibility testing.
• Maintain accurate records of donations, testing, inventory and transfusions.
• Monitor and manage blood inventory levels to ensure supply meets demand.
• Ensure proper functioning and maintenance of laboratory equipment.
• Comply with all safety, hygiene, and infection control standards.
• Collaborate with doctors, nurses, and other healthcare staff regarding transfusion needs.
• Assist in donor screening, phlebotomy, and post-donation care as needed.
• Participate in quality assurance programs and audits.

Qualifications:

• Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or related field.
• Certification in Blood Bank Technology (preferred).
• Minimum 1–2 years of experience in a blood bank or transfusion medicine lab.
• Knowledge of blood bank regulations, safety procedures, and quality standards.
• Proficiency in laboratory information systems (LIS) and Microsoft Office.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational and communication skills.

Salary: As per industry standards
