Job Description

Role & responsibilities

Blood collection & processing
: Draw donor and patient blood samples; process and separate components (e.g., plasma, platelets). [expertia.ai],
Compatibility testing
: Conduct blood typing, cross-matching, antibody identification, and titration to ensure recipient compatibility.
Infectious disease screening
: Test for infectious agents (e.g., HIV, hepatitis); document all test results accurately.
Equipment & inventory management
: Maintain and calibrate lab instruments; monitor storage conditions; manage inventory levels and order supplies.
Quality control and regulatory compliance
: Enforce laboratory quality control procedures and adhere to safety and regulatory standards.
Record-keeping & communication
: Maintain accurate logs of donations, tests, and blood product usage; communicate results to healthcare professionals.
Training & collaboration
: Train new staff; work closely with physicians, nurses, and lab personnel on transfusion needs.
