Job Description

As a Blood Bank Technician, your role is crucial in ensuring the timely delivery of blood and blood products to patients. You will be responsible for testing blood for transfusion-transmitted diseases to ensure patient safety. Additionally, you will investigate adverse transfusion and donor reactions, supervise the collection, separation, delivery, and storage of blood components, and support physicians and nurses in blood transfusion therapy. Key Responsibilities: - Testing blood for blood group antigens, compatibility, and antibody screening - Investigating abnormalities such as hemolytic diseases of the newborn and hemolytic anemias - Performing blood collection and processing, including selecting donors, collecting blood, and typing blood - Ensuring internal quality control and External Quality Assessment (EQA) activities are performed on time - Maintaining all required documents and following established policies and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) Qualifications Required: - BSc in Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT) or Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology (DMLT) - 3-5 years of experience in a hospital setting Please note that this is a full-time position that requires in-person work at the designated location.,
