Objectives of this role
The Engineer is responsible for generating CATIA V5 CAD concepts/ solutions for ongoing and new projects for BIW sheet metal parts.
Responsibilities:
Responsible as part owner for design and development of Mechanisms in Doors & Tailgate. Details of parts: Door & Tailgate hinges, Door Arrestors, Window Lifters, Door & Tailgate Lathes / stikers. To specify, develop, modify, support of sourcing process, ramp-up and tests of Mechanisms for new future products. Create a 3D, 2D and other relevant documentations during Concept phase (before development supplier nomination). Leading and daily coordinating of Sub-group parts. Organize the cooperation with external partners and suppliers. Lead design changes. Lead supplier engineers to deliver project targets. Responsible for meeting project milestones, cost & weight targets. Coordination for Part cost optimization / Scope. Design release approval, Data and strak management.
Required skills and qualifications:
Extensive experience in using CATIA V5
Good knowledge of part design. Experience in DFMEA, DFM, DFA. Team Centre (CONNECT) Excellent communications skills, demonstrated ability to communicate at all levels,
Literacy: Microsoft Power Point, Excel, Word etc
Preferable knowledge & experience:
Experience with VW group companies.
