Job Description

As a Biomedical Equipment Technician at our hospital, you will be responsible for the following key responsibilities: - Scheduling periodic maintenance and servicing for all Biomedical equipment in the hospital. - Ensuring and overseeing record keeping of equipment related documents in the department. - Planning optimal availability of equipment and suppliers such as spares and consumables. - Coordinating with users and the purchase department to ensure timely availability of supplies in the right quantity. - Conducting technical meetings, workshops, and seminars. - Interacting with research and technical institutes. - Arranging for special training for biomedical engineers, doctors, nurses, and technical staff. - Leading support on the development of protocols and guidelines for the selection, use, and maintenance of medical devices. - Providing advice to the hospital on all aspects of medical devices. - Providing advice and support to the Equipment Library Assistant. - Developing internal and external networks and relationships with all areas and colleagues as appropriate. - Coordinating special projects and performing specialized technical tasks involved in the installation and maintenance of clinical equipment. - Interpreting engineering and vendor information, schematic diagrams, and graphic illustrations utilizing clinical physiologic and electronic principles. - Improving or making special test setups to conduct functional checks with biomedical test equipment. - Executing a systematic preventive maintenance program for clinical equipment. - Providing engineering and technical counsel on codes and other regulatory standards to ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory agencies. - Assisting departments in capital equipment planning; assisting in identifying and recommending replacement of equipment that is obsolete, has extensive repair history, or has identified safety issues. - Working with Procurement Services and departments to ensure that all incoming clinical equipment is inspected, installed, and used as per departmental policy. - Performing a variety of routine tasks associated with the installation, maintenance, and repair of a diverse range of clinical equipment, typically non-life support. - Performing all the routine repair activities. You will be working full-time in person at the hospital's location.,
