Billing staff

Job Summary

The Billing Staff is responsible for accurate billing, cash handling, and POS operations to ensure smooth customer checkout. The role involves coordinating with store staff, maintaining billing records, and assisting customers with payment-related queries.

Key ResponsibilitiesBilling & Transactions

• Operate POS and billing software for sales transactions
• Ensure accuracy in billing, invoicing, and receipt issuance
• Handle cash, card, and digital payment modes
• Process returns, refunds, and exchanges as per company policy

Record Keeping & Reporting

• Maintain daily billing records and shift-wise cash reconciliation
• Report discrepancies or system issues to the supervisor or store manager
• Assist with end-of-day, weekly, and monthly sales reports

Customer Service

• Address customer queries related to bills, payments, and receipts
• Assist customers with pricing, offers, and discounts at the billing counter
• Ensure polite and professional interaction at all times

Store Coordination

• Coordinate with store floor staff for smooth checkout flow
• Keep the billing counter clean, organized, and ready for the next shift

Skills & Competencies

• Good numerical and calculation skills
• Basic computer knowledge and familiarity with POS systems
• Accuracy and attention to detail
• Good communication and customer service skills
• Ability to work in shifts and maintain punctuality

Qualifications & Experience

• Minimum qualification: 10+2 / Diploma
• Graduation is an added advantage
• Prior experience as a cashier or billing staff in retail is preferred

Work Environment

• Fast-paced retail environment
• Shift-based work with rotational schedules
• Must follow store SOPs and maintain professional conduct

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹10,500.00 - ₹16,500.00 per month
