Position Overview

Billing Engineer

Key Responsibilities

Billing & Quantity Measurement

• Prepare, verify, and certify contractor bills (RA Bills, Final Bills) as per contract terms.
  
• Prepare Bill of Quantities (BOQ), quantity take-offs, and measurement sheets from drawings and site data.
  
• Validate quantity claims submitted by contractors and highlight discrepancies.
  
• Track and update work progress based on site execution for billing purposes.
  

Cost Control & Estimation

• Assist in project cost estimation, rate analysis, and budget preparation.
  
• Monitor project expenditures and compare them with approved budgets.
  
• Support cost-saving initiatives and optimize material/quantity usage.
  

Documentation & Reporting

• Maintain records of measurements, work orders, invoices, and contract-related documents.
  
• Prepare Monthly Progress Reports (MPR), billing summaries, and reconciliation statements.
  
• Coordinate with site engineers to gather accurate execution data.
  

Coordination & Compliance

• Work with project managers, site teams, and contractors to ensure billing accuracy.
  
• Ensure that all billing activities comply with contractual, technical, and quality standards.
  
• Liaise with finance and procurement departments for payment processing and vendor management.
  

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelors/Diploma in Civil Engineering or relevant field.
  
• Proven experience as a Billing Engineer in construction/infrastructure projects.
  
• Strong knowledge of BOQ preparation, rate analysis, and quantity surveying.
  
• Ability to read and interpret drawings, contracts, and specifications.
  
• Expertise in MS Excel, AutoCAD, and measurement software (Candy, CostX, etc.).
  
• Familiarity with IS codes, CPWD/SOR, and contract conditions (optional).
  
• Strong numerical, analytical, and documentation skills.
  

Preferred Skills (Good to Have)

• Experience in ERP software (SAP, Tally, Oracle, etc.).
  
• Knowledge of tendering, estimation, and contract management.
  
• Exposure to MEP/Infrastructure billing (if applicable).
  
• Understanding of GST, taxation, and billing compliance norms.
